The Diomede Islands are a pair of rocky islands located in the Bering Strait between Alaska, USA and Siberia. The lager western island, known a Big Diomed Island is under Russia’s control, while Little Diomede belongs to the USA.
These islands were discovered in the 17-th century by a Russian explorer Semyon Deznev. Later the islands were re-discovered in the 18-th century.

Olkhon Island is the most popular tourist destination in Russia. This island is known for its beauty and perfect nature. Most of the inhabitants of the island live in the village Khuzhur. Fishing and farming is the main source of their income. There are many shops, cafés and stores that are full with everything needed for a good rest. There are five beautiful lakes on the island and various kinds of animals and plants.
