Only in 1979 the remains were discovered, but unfortunately could not be exhumed for political reasons.

When in 1991 Bois Yeltsin became Russia president he ordered to retrieve the remains. The experts from different countries came for investigation and proved that the bones were those of the members of Imperial family.

On the place where stood the Ipatiev house, where the family members had spend their last days a beautiful Cathedral-on-the-blood was built. The grand opening took place in 2003.
